Listening to alkaline trio, the specials, midtown, early J5 and reel big fish. Stuff i was way into a few years ago. Forgot how good all that shit is* especially the specials and midtown. I don't know what it is about midtown, but i've always had a soft spot for them.

*digression. Went to Pub St. George for the first time in a long time, January i think, with AlCam. That place is too much fun for me to even handle. Rastaman wails all night and 2 dollar red stripes and good ass environs, and, although expensive, the best G&T's i've ever had have come from PSG. Probably tied with Homeslice for best bar in Toledo. In my book atleast.

Round 2 will be difficult. The Bulls are the only team in the East that have the ability to beat The Pistons in a 7 game series (Spurs being the only team in the west). Should be interesting. I'm super excited to see that Golden State knocked off the Mavs. I wouldn't care, or atleast not really really wanting to have dallas lose, had the mavs a different owner than Mark Cuban. He's bothers the living hell out of me. Can't even really explain it. I just can't stand his stupid ass ass. It is immeasurably pleasing to watch him get all worked up then mad then sad when they are losing/have lost. I also really like Baron Davis. That was definitely one of the most exciting playoff series i have ever seen. The warriors are a lot of fun to watch. They remind me of an unrefined and undisciplined Phoenix Suns, who happen to the only other team i would like to see win the championship. My love for the suns has its roots back in the days of barkley, but steve nash is probably the most impressive player in the nba. Almost inhuman in his ways.

I have a sudden celebrity crush on Tina Fey.

Lately i've been free ballin' under my pajama pants when i go to bed. Rotten meat.

Firstly, Don't hate on me because i like the new nelly furtado record.

Lastly, What's the anatomical opposite of a dickhole?

Then I had a an awesome nostalgic moment. It was elicited by a night drive with the windows down, the sun roof open, dressed in summer attire, and grooving to A Tribe Called Quest's Midnight Marauders. It took me back to last summer. A monumental summer. A pivotal summer. But, that cd, particularly "Award Tour" "We Can Get Down" and "Electric Relaxation" along with Mos Def's Black On Both Sides and The Roots' Game Theory were the soundtrack to my summer. All that mattered to me was hip-hop, smoking trees, playing disc golf, and hanging out. Focused on the positive. A mending summer.

Already in a good mood, the moment took me to an almost euphoric state. All the stressors, which are not in abundance by any means, but there nonetheless, went away for a little bit while i drove to Starbucks and back home. It might as well have been July '06.

It is pretty phenomenal that the right combination of stimuli can have that kind of effect on a person. The music is key, though. I think the real phenomenon lies with the music. It would have just been a pleasant, warm night drive without the presence of "Award Tour." It was the music that evoked the event.

Secondly, Nostalgic moments cued by music are a common occurance for me, as well as stench nostalgia.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fluidface.blogspot.com/2007/03/smells-like-meat-rotten-meat.html' title='Smells like meat. We were watching movies and taking notes about them. In the process of taking notes, I would find something that I deemed worthy of a note and proceed to write it down, but in the time it took to move my hand and eyes to the paper I would forget a part of what i was supposed to write down. So, i got a lot of notes like this:

"The AMA hates that shit"
"Massage is pretty cool"
"Naturopathy lady -> like Dietitian"
"Acupuncture does things to the body"
"Chinese Medicine unblocks flows of stuff in the body"

Then i was thinking about cool it would be if i could somehow turn my handwriting into a computer font. I guess that there could quite possibly a website out there that creates customizable fonts or creates fonts out of someone's handwriting. I figured that they would create it by having you write out one capital and one lowercase of each letter or by having you write out that sentence about the fox that contains every letter of the alphabet. So, i attempted to write that sentence from memory. It came out like this:

"The lazy brown fox did some funny things one day, and i really liked the way he did those little ass things."

Neglecting the letters C, J, P, Q, and V.

To kill time while waiting for my sister to get out of class, i started reading the book Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. It is the sequel to Darkly Dreaming Dexter both of which inspired and were the basis of the show Dexter on Showtime. I saw all of season one, which was pretty fucking amazing to say the least, before i read the first of the two books. My dad disagrees with me, but personally, i enjoy the way Dexter is portrayed in the show more than in the books. He much cooler, much darker, and less of a nerd. The series itself, i felt, was much better than the first book. Though, Dearly Devoted Dexter has started of very strongly. The end of chapter 7 contains, as far as i can remember, the only part in a novel that has genuinely creeped me out. Upon finishing the last sentence of the chapter i did one of those surprised and shocked, but slight and quick head jerk back motions and exhaled in a, "shit, that's fucked up." manner. I might end up diving back in for a little before i go to bed.

Snake Pussy

The other night I had a dream that, at this point, I only vaguely remember. The one element of the dream that makes it worth explaining were the words Snake Pussy. Snake Pussy might have been a band, and my guess is that it would fit best into the Country/Western All-Girl Punk genre. Or, Snake Pussy might have been a substance similar to olive oil most likely used an ingredient in a sauce or gravy recipe, or one of those oils known for their healing properties that some people tend to use sometimes. I can't quite remember which of those things bore the title of Snake Pussy.

Summer Blockbuster.

I made a movie.

Why?

Q: Why am I starting a new blog all of a sudden?

A: I'm a little stoned, and I'm listening to emo.

Cartel to be precise.

A few key points:

This ain't a scene.
